TransApuseana: what it is and how to drive it

TransApuseana is a mountain road in the Apuseni Mountains, and Camping Alba sits between it and the Transalpina. Below is what public sources say about it.

What it is

TransApuseana is the county road DJ 107I, about 78 km long. It links the city of Aiud with the Bucium–Abrud area and ends at the national road that connects Alba Iulia with Abrud (DN74).

Where it goes

The road passes through Râmeț, Ponor, Mogoș and Bucium. The highest point is above 1,100 m.

Road condition

Sources say the road is paved and open to all types of vehicles; works began in 2019 and were completed in 2024. We found no information on restrictions or on large caravans, so check the weather and road conditions before you set off.
